Dear comrades! Native Stalingraders! Frenzied bands of enemy have reached the walls of our native city. Once again, as 24 years ago, our city is living through difficult days. Bloody Hitlerites are striving to reach sunny Stalingrad and great Russian river -Volga. Troops of Red Army are selflessly defending Stalingrad. All approaches to city are strewn with corpses of German-fascist occupiers.Super-bandit Hitler is rushing more and more of his cutthroats into battle and trying to take Stalingrad at any cost. Comrade Stalingraders! We will not give up our native city, our native home, our native land. We will turn every street in city into impenetrable barricades. We will make impregnable fortress of every home, every building, every street. Everybody, come out and build barricades. Organize brigades. Barricade every street. To build barricades, use whatever is at hand-stones, logs, iron, streetcars. We will build barricades quickly so soldiers can annihilate enemy from barricades built by us. Soldiers of the Red Army! Defenders of Stalingrad! We will do everything so you can hold Stalingrad. Not a step back. Fight enemy without mercy. Take vengeance on Germans for every hearth destroyed, for every brutality committed, for bloodshed and tears of our children, our mothers, and our wives. Defenders of Stalingrad! In terrible year 1918 our fathers held Red Tsaritsyn from band of German mercenaries. In year 1942 we will hold Red Banner Stalingrad. We will hold it so you can throw back and then destroy bloody band of German occupiers. Everyone to build barricades!
